Canada’s micro-distilleries and distilleries industry produces different disinfectants to fight the coronavirus !

Canada’s micro-distilleries and distilleries industry are producing to fight the coronavirus !

During the First World War, the Gooderham & Worts distillery in Toronto supported the war effort by producing acetone which is a key ingredient in making munitions.

On November 1, 1942, during the Second World War, the Hiram Walker Gooderham & Worts Limited distillery had halted production of their alcohol for beverages and devoted all its resources to the war effort. In the process, all Canadian distilleries, including Seagram’s powerhouses, distilled alcohol for the war.

Today, while the entire planet is fighting a virus, the Canadian distilleries have once again come together to produce different disinfectants to deal with the current shortage of hand sanitizer!

Below is a list (sorted alphabetically by province) which we are trying to keep updated as accurate as possible.  If you should notice a missing participating distillery or would like to add any special comments or remarks, please do not hesitate to let us know.

ATTENTION : It is strongly recommended to contact the micro-distilleries or distilleries directly prior to an on site visit:
