Distillerie de la Manufacture

Distilleries Canada/ June 2, 2020/ Distillerie, Distillery

If the story started a little earlier, it was in July 2017 that things became official for the creation of this project. It had to be initially elsewhere, but finally Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts opened doors and facilities which weighed in the final choice of the location.

The distillery has started producing alcohol, but that supplies the pharmaceutical industry because of the situation. The partners preferred to postpone the launch of their first products to get it right. Moreover, in an environmental concern, when they learned that the Dieu du Ciel microbrewery in Saint-Jérôme was going to have to throw away their unsold produce due to the closure of bars and restaurants, they decided to use it as a base to distill in order to make neutral anti-skeptic alcohol.

The distillery will work from grain to bottle with the idea of making exceptional products, in two stills. The largest has a capacity of 1200 liters and has been named “Gros Curé”, it is used to produce neutral alcohol, make vodka and probably other spirits in the future. The little 300-liter that doesn’t have a name yet, but it will just focus on gins.

Hopefully these are gin and vodka that will emerge after summer, and the visual should create a nice surprise. If you look at the logo, it will give you a little idea of the style they have in mind. But sorry, I cannot say more, we will have to be patient.
